About Teikoku - 帝囯
Teikoku was founded in 2020, we are a boutique show kennel based in London, South of England. The affix 'Teikoku' was
approved by the Kennel Club in 2020 and Irish Kennel Club in
spring 2021. Teikoku is a three-way partnership among Tina, Paul Johnson and Doncho
Borisov.
The word 'Teikoku' is Japanese in nature which means 'empire' or 'regime'. It pays homage to two empires it associates with: Japan and the British empires. Japan the native home of Japanese Akita Inu, and Great Britain where the new kennel/affix is based.
The literary meaning of 'Teikoku'
commands inspiring image of 'regal, power & strength', it resonates with
the quality of the Japanese Akita dog, its breed image and
characteristics.
We are members of AKIHO, the Akita Inu Breed Preservation Society in Japan.
