An Overview of the Preservation Society
The association was established in May 1927 by Mr. Shigeie Nagaizumi of Odate Town at that time.
This is an indigenous dog (Odate dog) that has been handed down in this region since ancient times, and dog fighting became popular.
Due to the circumstances, the turbidity of the blood of the race was caused, and it was treated with concern that it would become a mongrel.
It was noted that the founding of the preservation society was not easy, however, from around 1934, the dog registration was carried out. In 2013, the Akita dog standard
was also enacted and the exhibition was held, but it was temporarily suspended due to the war.
After the war, it revived quickly, an exhibition was held since 1947, and a newsletter "Akita Inu" was published. By the time of May 1953, it became an incorporated association.
In May 2015, it was transferred to a public interest incorporated association and has been operated since then.
From around 1949 and 1940, the establishment of branch offices and total branch offices began all over the country, and now,
Tohoku Hokkaido, Kanto, Central Kanto, Tokai Hokuriku, Kansai, Chugoku Shikoku, Chugoku Setouchi, Kyushu
There are more than 50 branches under its jurisdiction, including the United States, China, and Taiwan.
There are clubs in the Gulf, Russia and Europe. There are two spring and autumn headquarter exhibitions and general branch exhibitions, each branch holds exhibitions once or twice a year, as well as appreciation events and study groups were held from time to time.
The year 1977 marked the 50th anniversary of the association's founding, and the Akita Dog Hall was established to commemorate the occasion.
This was the 1st floor is the headquarters office, the 2nd floor is the meeting room, and the 3rd floor is the Akita dog museum.
It is highly regarded as the only museum of the National Dog Breed Association.
